Children @ WBC
Do you have children who you would like to bring to church? We have lots going on for them, both on Sundays and during the week:
We have a creche for babies and pre-schoolers, and separate groups for children of infant (KS1), junior (KS2) and high school ages. (For information about our work with children in year 6 and above, see the Youth@WBC page.)
We have a very popular Tuesday morning Toddlers
group during term time meeting 10-11.30am with 2 rooms full of toys for babies up to rising 5's, crafts, refreshments, stories and singing time led by Pastor Simon and members of the Toddlers team. We don't charge for attending the group but you can give a donation for coffee and biscuits.
Occasionally we have a Prayer Picnic after our main session finishes, and you are welcome to leave prayer requests in the box or even better, bring your own lunch and join us for an informal chatty lunch where we share issues we want prayer for and take these to God together.
We have a Facebook group for parents and carers. Those whose children attend are welcome to join at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ToddlersWBC/
We often arrange meet ups in local parks during the long summer break, and info about this will be on the Toddlers Facebook page and the church website calendar.
is a monthly small group for under 5's and their parents/carers, which has grown out of our Thames Street Living Room (open all day Mondays, with refreshments and some toys and books available). It meets on a Monday morning at 10.30 for a Bible story, simple craft and singing.
We run a week-long holiday club - usually in the 1st full week of the school summer holidays. This is open to all primary school age children.
Holiday Club is always great fun. Our 2020 holiday club
will run Mon 27 - Fri 31 July. Click here for more details
. Around 90 children from the local community attended last year's club, doing arts and crafts, engaging in dance, drama and circus activities, singing and enjoying a bit of friendly competition (and water fun).
We are involved in visiting local schools taking assemblies, as well as Christian Union at Wallingford School, and we have the great privilege of running Prayer Spaces at several local schools (primary and secondary) each year. We also run Transition events for year 6's looking ahead at the move to high school, as well as inviting schools to special events such as the immersive multi-sensory spaces we create for Easter Explored.
It is a delight to meet your children again when they come with schools parties, having first known them through our Toddler group!
All our work with children and young people, whether on our premises or externally, is governed by our Safeguarding Children Policy
which you are welcome to download here. All who volunteer with under 18s are appropriately screened, trained, and hold valid DBS certificates.
